The United For America X Luminary
Helping diverse women-owned businesses across America impacted by COVID-19 recover, rebuild, and reimagine their future.
Covid-19 eliminated more than 25% of women-owned businesses in the United States since March 2020. That percentage increases to more than 40% for women of color owned businesses. Prior to the pandemic, women-owned businesses were growing at a rate of roughly 1,800 new businesses per day, of which more than 60% were started by women of color.
The Unilever United for America x Luminary Fellowship Program is supporting businesses owned or founded by women by awarding a total of 290 Fellowships in 2021.
The program gives Unilever United for America Fellows access to Luminary’s extensive global community, introductions, workshops, coaching, mentoring and business marketplace, The Luminary Collective. Fellows also receive best-in-class thought leadership, opportunities and insights from our partner Unilever and their robust portfolio of brands with purpose, thought leaders and partners.
Unilever, the makers of Dove, Suave, Hellmann's and more, continues to take action to support the people and communities who have been hardest hit by the pandemic.

Two years ago, we developed a creative campaign for NYC bodywear brand, Chromat. The brand’s first-ever ad campaign, Chromat Pool Rules, received 205 million social impressions (with no paid media), coverage in 50 publications worldwide, an increase in sales of 38%, and overwhelmingly positive social engagement. Check out our case study video below and some of the media buzz it received here or here.
We can’t wait to see how we can top it this year.
