Supporting Women-Owned Small Businesses.
Small to medium businesses account for 99.9% of U.S. businesses. According to a 2021 Indeed survey of 600 small to medium business owners, 80% said they found it difficult to compete for talent with larger companies. In fact, SMB's were 9% more likely than enterprises/large businesses to say it had been difficult to find workers towards the end of 2021.
Many SMB's have adapted to different hiring strategies to better compete for talent. 93% of SMBs believe their company will grow and have more job opportunities over the next year, and as a result, 78% of respondents said they’ve changed their hiring/HR practices to attract candidates.
To support SMB's through this transitional time, Indeed and Luminary have collaborated to launch the SMB Fellowship.
The Indeed SMB Luminary Fellowship will support women and women of color owned businesses, both small and medium, impacted by the pandemic, awarding a total of 150 Fellowships with at least 50% awarded to women of color, nationwide.
The program will give Indeed SMB Fellows access to ongoing education, incremental support for job placement, coaching and mentoring, leadership training, content and community, professional networks, guidance, and exposure. Fellows also receive best-in-class thought leadership, opportunities and insights from our partner Indeed.
