Yai Vargas is On a Mission to Bridge the Gap Between Diverse Talent & Organizations

Yai Vargas Headshot

Tell us a bit about yourself? I am Yai Vargas, aka the LinkedIn Ninja, I am a community builder. My mission day in and out is helping individuals understand how to brand themselves and articulate their values when it comes to their career & leadership development.  With The Latinista, I host monthly events where Latinas and women of color invest in learning new skill-based and habit changing strategies for career mobility. The Latinista has chapters in NYC, Miami, Chicago and LA where I travel almost weekly to meet with community leaders, executives, organizations and individuals to bridge the gap between diverse talent and organizations. I am a national public speaker on women’s empowerment, LinkedIn branding and female entrepreneurship.

How did you get started with your current career path/business journey?  I have always been in the diversity & inclusion space - I wanted to create a community and a network for Latinas and women of color that are invested in career and leadership development because I saw the need for my network.

What do you find is the most rewarding aspect of what you do? Being able to help women find career opportunities and receive promotions because of the workshops we do.

How are you inviting other women to take a seat at the table? The workshops I curate focus on self-assessment, goal-setting, and role-playing with the mission of making your next big career move. The women I help are showing up to change their career trajectory and they are completely invested in doing the work to get to the next step.

What impact has Luminary made in your career? Luminary has enabled me to host various workshops for my community as well as helped me share my work with their members by way of networking.
