Breakout Sessions
Advance: Speak Like a Leader: Strategies and tactics for being heard

Leaders aren’t just people we follow or admire; they’re people we listen to. Your own leadership is defined not just through the work you do, but how you speak. Sharpening the skills and tactics you use to be heard in a room is critical. In this interactive session, you’ll get a closer look at the blocks and bad habits that hold us back as a leader, plus strategies you can apply starting now to go from playing small to commanding attention—while garnering support and consensus in the room.

Speaker: Terri Trespicio, Brand storyteller, Keynote speaker, Author of Unfollow Your Passion

Build: Crash Course: Business Plan Boot Camp
For all of the popularity of pitch decks, business plans still serve an important function for entrepreneurs who are building a business. A study of more than 1,000 US entrepreneurs found that those with a business plan were more successful than those without. In Business Plan Boot Camp, we will break down each point and the basis for eight essential elements founders should include in a business plan, and why they matter.
Speaker: Cate Luzio, Founder & CEO of Luminary

Connect: Using Poker to Connect, Negotiate and Bet on Yourself
Join this highly interactive session which will weave together why poker matters when building skills such as negotiation, and risk taking. And yes, you’ll leave the session with a basic understanding of poker; but more importantly, why thinking like a winning poker player matters.
Speakers: Erin Lydon, President, and AJ Rudolph, Program Manager at Poker Power

Develop: Money Talks: Building Financial Confidence
You know you're supposed to understand your finances, but do you really? Having financial confidence helps you take control of your financial situation and meet the goals that matter to you. In this session, we will start from the beginning on everything you need to know about finances and move you into direct control of your money. We’ll cover practical tips and insights on how to track expenses, how to pay off debt, where to start with investing, and more! Let’s get comfortable talking about money.
Speakers: Aja Evans, Financial Therapist

2:45 PM - 3:25 PM

Building While Flying
During this session, we’ll speak with several Founders on the challenges and lessons learned along the way with building their company's brands as well as their personal brands, how they have worked to make sure their brand speaks to their customer, how they have built their platform and audience and everything in between.
Featuring Marisa Sharkey, Co-Founder and President, Birdies; and Christine Chang, Co-Founder & Co-CEO, Glow Recipe, moderated by Christine Lagorio-Chafkin, Senior Writer, Inc. Magazine

3:35 PM - 4:15 PM

CHOOSE YOUR JOURNEY:

Investing In The Ecosystem of Women's Health

50% of the world's population is women. Women also account for 80% of consumer purchasing decisions in the healthcare industry.  Yet, women's healthcare has long been considered a niche market. Now, especially given the Founders you'll hear from in this session, that's starting to shift, leading to better health outcomes and access for women across the healthcare system.

Featuring Simmone Taitt, Founder & CEO, Poppy Seed Health; Cynthia Plotch, Co-Founder, stix; Omisade Burney-Scott, Creator, The Black Girl's Guide to Surviving Menopause; and Alessandra Henderson, Co-Founder & CEO, Elektra Health; moderated by Tanya Klich, Senior Editor at Marie Claire

To Raise or Not To Raise

Whether you're thinking about raising money for your company/start-up, are already raising or have "been there, done that," you'll want to hear from this panel of CEO's, Founders and Funders. Join this session for their unique perspectives given their backgrounds to lessons learned and sharing advice.

Featuring Jean Smart, Founder and CEO, Penelope; Rochelle Stewart, Director, New & Strategic Channels, Silicon Valley Bank; Natasha Cornstein, CEO, Blushington, Cate Luzio, Founder & CEO of Luminary, moderated by Hena Doba, Anchor/Host at Cheddar News.

4:25 PM - 4:55 PM

"How We Built It" Closing Panel

As women we do it all - growing companies, developing talent, mentoring and sponsoring, creating opportunities, managing schedules, providing care to others (and ourselves), but how do we do it? We certainly can't do it alone. From building blocks around mentorship/sponsorship and self-advocacy, to establishing a network and elevating others, to finding your voice and everything in between, you'll not only walk away with great tips and advice from our panelists, you’ll be able to ask them your burning questions too.

Featuring Deirdre Quinn, Co-Founder and CEO, Lafayette 148;  Sandra Campos, Board Member & 3X CEO, and Wendy Taccetta, SVP Small and Medium Business Solutions & Channel Chief at Verizon,
moderated
by Lindsey Stanberry, Executive Editor, Fortune
