How to Use Manifestation to Your Advantage at Work

Hive Guest Blog Post on Luminary Reflections

Ah, manifestation. The word, which has gained more popularity via platforms like TikTok and Instagram, is one you’ve probably heard. While some view it as whoo-ey or make-believe, manifestation can be used to truly impact your life. With the right knowledge, manifestation can be taken into practice in your real, everyday life. It can even be used to your advantage at work

Put your old ideas about manifestation down and step into your best self at work, with these 4 helpful tips we’ve included, here.

What is manifestation?

First, you should understand what manifestation means. As defined by YogiApproved, manifestation is the art of physically materializing your internal beliefs. Whether you believe you are strong enough (or not), skilled enough (or not), or worthy enough (or not), these internal thoughts will reflect in your external reality.

Have you ever woken up extra tired, spilled coffee before your first meeting, and then declared it would be a terrible day? Of course, with that attitude, it would end up being a terrible day. That is the power of manifestation. Whereas, if you say it’s going to be a great day and change your beliefs internally, a more positive outcome is likely to happen.

Manifestation is simply the act of changing your internal thoughts to believe that what you want to happen, will happen. It’s as simple as that.

You can use manifestation at work, too

Looking to land that promotion? Do you want a positive outcome from the project your team is working on? What about receiving an excellent performance review from your boss? Cue manifesting — and some hard work, of course.

If you want to use manifestation to your advantage at work, keep these in mind.

Remove self-limiting beliefs

If you’re looking to propel yourself further at work, you’ll never get anywhere if you think you can’t. Having self-limiting beliefs holds us back from reaching our goals, keeps us feeling stuck and can bring us down mentally.

Self-limiting beliefs can look like:

  • “I’m not smart enough to get that job.”
  • “I’m not good enough to be on this team.”
  • “I don’t have the confidence to do that.”
  • “I could never do that.”
  • “No one will ever care about my work.

To remove these, and manifest your best self at work, replace these self-limiting beliefs by  saying positive affirmations instead:

  • “I am smart enough to land that new role.”
  • “I deserve to be a part of this team.”
  • “I am smart, confident and able.”
  • “I can do this.”
  • “I deserve this and more.”

Visualize yourself having what you want

When you’re looking to make a change in work, you can manifest it by using the technique of visualization. Visualization is the act of picturing yourself having and doing the thing you want to achieve. For example, if you’re looking for a new role, you might visualize yourself on your new commute, sitting at your new desk, or working from home.

To visualize try these steps:

  • Close your eyes
  • Visualize what you want
  • Try to feel and experience the motion you’d feel in that scenario

Come up with a plan

Manifestation can get you places, including when you come up with a plan to help aid things along.

  • Write down what you want to happen, and the steps you need to take to get there.
  • Focus on the intentions you have
  • Make sure it is detail-oriented

This will not only help keep you accountable but will also be helpful in keeping you focused.

Remove fear from the equation

Fear can keep you from moving forward. Instead of focusing inward on the fear, understand that any opportunity has the potential to be a success, and much as it has the potential to be a failure. Don’t let yourself fall into the trap of living with the fear of failure. Instead, picture yourself in success and joy in the thing you want.

Manifest the work-life you want

Are you ready to practice manifestation and get what you want in life and in work? If you believe you’re ready, you will be ready.

Take these words of wisdom from manifestation expert, Anthon St. Maarten, on manifestation: “Dare to dream! If you did not have the capability to make your wildest wishes come true, your mind would not have the capacity to conjure such ideas in the first place. There is no limitation on what you can potentially achieve, except for the limitation you choose to impose on your own imagination What you believe to be possible will always come to pass — to the extent that you deem it possible.”

It really is as simple as that.
